REVIEW #1: MEGAMAN X7
PART 1:CONTROLS
DASH: Circle
JUMP: X
NORMAL ATTACK: Square
SPECIAL ATTACK: Triangle
CHANGE PLAYER: L2
PART 2:THE INTRO
The game starts off with an awesome intro which shows Axl
and Red sneaking into a building and killing some non-important guys. After that, you control Axl and you have to
go through the building and through some security lasers. to get past them, shoot them when they're in your target, and they
shut off. temporarily. But still, it's weird. they're only the traps you face at the beginning of the beginning of the
game, yet they're invincible, which makes them harder than any boss! gosh! Then you enter a 3D area where we face some easier
enemies. the first is the soldier dude who throws grenades. Capcom isn't being very creative with the enemies here. A
lot of them are made from characters in Megaman. Sniper Joes, anyone? Oh well. The second enemy isn't really an enemy,
but it hurts you, so I'll put it here anyway. It's a short pillar that spins and fires some sort of hypno-beam. ooooh,
scary... then, we've got these armored dudes who pretty much stand still. arrrgh, so scary... then, we've got Mr. What
The Heck, who is just a big wall with four bulbs that are blue. BUT!!! before you shoot senselessly, I might as well point
out a few things about Axl. Number one, if you jump, and press X in the air, you hover! and you can move in the air for a
short while. second of all, since you've probably noticed the red and yellow rings, I should tell you that R1 switches the
target, and that is why you have to be patient with Mr. What The Heck, because if you shoot a bulb that didn't turn red, you
get a face full of plasma. nice, isn't he? then, after you shoot a red bulb three times, the door that Mr. What The Heck
was guarding opens, and that's kinda your cue to go in. after that, you see a cut-scene with Axl facing the guy you'll
face before long. Then there's a Zero cutscene, which shows Zero coming back to the highway. remember this place? this place,
and all of its enemies are from MMX1! And if you payed any attention to Zero's voice, you'll notice it's deeper from
the other games. Then, It switches to Zero, whom you get to control. Before we start killing people with a lightsaber
rip-off, I must say that if you swing the sword right before the green ball enemies shoot you, it deflects right back at them!
nifty, huh? This trick works on any enemy who shoots those blue shots at you! Including the level boss!!!
The enemies here are easy, especially the Bee-copters, if you know what you're doing. For the first two, remember to go
directly under them, press and hold up, and kepp tapping Square to hurt them. Just watch out for the enemies they drop.
then, after a slightly harder part, you fight the third one on a slim piece of road. it's easy if you've learned the pattern
and can slash it a couple of times before jumping back. after that, you fight the boss, which is an awesome-looking Scorpion
thing. and, best of all. You get to use AXL!!! He's my favorite character. for the boss, it will shoot at you and charge at
you after you take out a lot of its life. one tip, here... HERE, THE WALLS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!!! Also, the one thing cool about
this boss is the fact that you can blow its arms off! Geez, these things aren't really that powerful if their arms fall off
like that!
PART #3: TORNADO ONION-ER, TONION!
This stage is the recommended first stage to play. This stage should be easy and quick for anybody who's played Megaman,
veteran or not. This stage is hard in the second part, but easy in the first. In the first half, you have to get through the
tower's lower half while you dodge attacks from the humongous Hermitcrabaloid. But remember, try to save as many people as
possible, because two of them bear valuable chips. In the second half, you have to defeat the Hermitcrabaloid himself, but
don't get scared and jump off of a cliff, because he's actually pretty easy if you know his timing. His first attack is to
shoot multiple fire balls that explode into a pillar of fire. dodge these by dashing, but watch out for the explosive
missles that he almost always sends at you after that. they make a fire pillar, too! His second attack is to detach one of
his regrowable arms and drill the ground next to where you were standing when he shot it. And he usually shoots it to your
right. either way, just stand still and slash them quickly with Zero, or dash away through an opening, because he usually
does his "heartburn" attack after that, and shoot his arm with Axl. his final attack is annoying, and once he starts doing
it, he dosen't stop! his third attack is to go into his shell and to pop out three blades from who knows where out of
his shell. +Note:IF YOU HAVE READ THIS REVIEW AND STILL CAN'T DODGE THIS ATTACK, EVEN WITH AXL, THEN GO SET YOUR PANTS ON
FIRE+ he then proceeds to spin in a circle type motion, moving his blades up-and-down, on which you must proceed to hover
with Axl, or double-jump with Zero, and duck respectably. if you get hurt too much, there's a full life thingy-ma-bobber on
the side of the circle arena. then, when the Hermitcrabaloid is defeated, he falls, because Tornado Onion was holding him
up on fishing line, and thus witnessing the horror below of Axl eating cream cheese, he cuts the line. So then, on to the
second section. First, we cover the enemies. The first is a sattelite thing, which is almost always found in clusters, almost
never attacks, and can only get hit when its head is up. The next one is a weird guy in a sphere shield, which vanishes when
he jumps, and shots very rarely. One thing that I must point out is the fact that Capcom's at it again, being uncreative,
because this guy's pattern is similar to the pattern of a MM7 Sniper Joe, because those also only raise their sheilds
when they jump or attack. The third enemy is a maverick bat, which is the hardest to hit enemy in this level because
of their tendency to fly up to your face. the last enemy is a rotating thing that covers jumps and looks like a sattelite
wing. The last thing to point out before you go out to estroy these nice people is the fact that you should know that if you
fall in a hole in the floor, it's not fatal, it merely drops you off at a lower part of the radio tower. man, why don't they
do that in every Megaman game...?
=====BOSS - TORNADO TONION - A.K.A. THE FAT MAN=====
This guy is easy, even for a beginner to the Megaman universe. But I just don't understand why the Hunters want to kill
him for broadcasting his GROOOVY DANCE!...Anyway, his first attack is to take the excess fat off of him, and point them like
flower petals in a floating circle around him, and spin towards you. It's okay to take a couple of shots at him before running
away, because you have to be suprisingly close to his big tornado to get spun high and slammed down. After a couple of rounds
of that, when you see him spin towards the center of the arena, run to the sides, because he'll do the same thing as before,
except that he'll stay still, and shoot his petals back and forth. get as close as you can without getting hit, and you might
plug a couple of bullets in him. Then, he'll get three new final attacks after you get about halfway through his life. His
first is to spin his petals and make a tornado when you get too close, and his second is to come towards you while making
a wall of petals to shoot at you three times. if you like to play as Axl, then hover and shoot him above the short wall. as
Zero, jump over the wall and slash him, then jump back while the wall falls back. His last attack is similar to the Hermitcrabaloid,
where he makes a spear of petals, and rotates it left to right, first on the ground, then above your head. so jump over it
when it's on the ground, and stand still when it'sabove your head. when you defeat him, you hear him utter the stupidest
dying words of any Megaman boss.... YOU DIDN'T LIKE IT!!! well, of course, oh fat onion genie, your dance is dumb! but, you
get a good weapon as your spoils. The Volt Tornado! And, when you have the Volt Tornado selected, and normal attack, you gun
fires a quick beam instead of the usual Axl Bullets!
PART #4: SPLASH WARFLY GO BYE-BYE
A lot of the other seven bosses can be damaged by Torando Tonion's weapon, because it stands still before it shoots,
which causes them to be hit multiple times before it fires! The first one we'll cover is Spash Warfly, because his stage is
long and has about five parts, so I want to get it over with! The first part is relatively short, but has about 15 enemies
crammed in there. the first that we'll cover are the Megatortoises, which sometimes fire missles at you, but if you can tap
Attack fast, you'll hurt them a lot before they go back in their shells.
The second are the Mets, my favorite enemies in the whole Megaman universe. the Mets here get up from their shell and
shoot at you, but you can deflect the bullets with Zero. But don't attack them with their shells down, because they won't
get up unless you stop beating their undestructible helmets. The third enemy on this part are the Sniper Joe rip-offs from
the beginning of the game. I won't talk about them again, so consult the Part 2:Intro to read about them. The first part is
easy, it's just a bunch of Mets and Megatortoises who can't hurt you if you move fast. also, before moving to the Miniboss
area, be sure to quickly kill the Sniper Joes on the high platform and save the HELP! dudes located here. there's two, one
in the air, who is the reason why I had you kill the Sniper Joes first, and another behind the non-moving platform.
++++++Miniboss 1: The Eagle On A Stick-er...Platform!+++++++
after that, you see a short cut-scene, in which the tower falls behind you and you have to fight the first Miniboss.
where is he? well, go to the upper left part of this place and you'll get your answer. the Miniboss is an eagle on a spinning
platform that shoots machine gun fire, and occasionally stops to rest for a few seconds. just hover over the machine gun fire
with Axl, and then go in close when he stops and slash him with whichever character that you put the Tornado Tonion stage
chips on. chips? oh yeah, never told you about them, did I? well, two of the HELP! guys in every stage carry chips, and when
you get chips, at the end of the stage, you can use your chips to power up your characters in either the Power, Speed, or
Special categories. I recommend to power them up in Power first, because it helps you survive most boss fights. The eagle
Miniboss has three phases, the first is when you shoot one wing until it explodes, the second is the opposite wing, and, after
you blow up both wings, they open to reveal the circular core. If you jump, you'll probably hit it with more accuracy. After
the miniboss dies, you jump off of the edge, into the next area.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In
this area, there is fire everywhere, which obviously, is the bomb pillar type, on which you cannot have a marshmallow
roast. It's also filled with crates topped with the same kind of Mets as before, and has two new enemies. Also, watch out
for the HELP! guys that you can find behind the crates. the first new enemy is a huge wall, with eight guns on hatches attached
to it. It has two phases. The first one, the more commonly used one, is when it opens the eight hatches to reveal circle shaped
guns with bulbs on the ends, which fire eight blue (bounce-these-back-with-Zero-you-moron!) bolts off at you. this phase is
annoying because they only fire once, which only gives you just enough time to dodge (or-block-back-with-Zero-nitwit!) the
bolts and blow up at least one turret. but the second phase is easier because the guns come out instead as lasers and shoot
long beams straight out. Gee, whos smart idea was that one, huh? This gives you a lot of time to blow up at leats two or three
guns while they shoot above you. after all of the turrets are down, the wall sinks into the ground, and gives you a stephold
to the smaller and higher part of the ship.
++++++Miniboss 2:The Three Big Fire Dragons++++++++++++++
Have you noticed one thing about the stage lately? It has a lot of fire in it, yet it's meant to be a water based stage...Anyhow,
the Miniboss here is made up of three tall red dragons hooch from Flame Hyenard's stage. they are very easy to kill, because
all you have to do is shoot the Volt Tornado a couple of times at each one, and thus, they die.
And then you get to see another cutscene with you character jumping ship! OH, JOY!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Before we start on this section of the level, I really wanna point out that those three dragons were also not custom
made, because they almost exactly follow the shooting and dying patterns of the dragon enemy in the Nakkai desert ruins in
The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne. Geez, can't Capcom make at least ONE original enemy?
In part three, you start in front of a destroyed battleship (#3), with fire on both sides, and a couple of crates
on your left. the newest enemy here is another copy of those rocket enemies from Spark Mandrill's stage in MMX1. just watch
out for one which'll shoot an important HELP!! Guy unless you save him while it's shield is up before it shoots.TBC...
