A fraudulent e-mail has been circulating
recently, targeting members of credit unions around the country.
The official-sounding e-mail indicates that members' accounts have
been "temporarily suspended" and asks the recipient to call a
toll-free number. If you call that number you will be asked
for private account information.
This is a scam known as phishing. The
senders of these e-mails cast a wide net hoping to fool people into
divulging personal information.Never
respond to such e-mails! If you receive any communication
asking you for personal information about your credit union account,
please speak directly to us!
