Okay, truth be told, we’re no longer sure how this is spelled. But
it’s been around since the dawn of time - well, at least since the dawn of the Schleis and Seigfried families!
Cucumber salad:
3 cucumbers, peeled and sliced very thin
2 lg. cloves of garlic, chopped fine
2 tsp salt.
Mix and set for about an hour, then squeeze all the liquid you can out
by hand.
Then add:
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
black pepper
1 pint sour cream.
Schmuda:
2 c. flour
2 lg. eggs
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
Milk
Oil
Mix first four ingredients with enough milk to make a heavy batter. Heat
oil in a pan. Pour in batter and fry it, turning and chopping it up until it is done, brown and golden.
Serve with the cucumber salad over the top, or leave the cucumber salad
off and just sprinkle with sugar for a yummy treat.
