Nick and Debbie always brought these to the reunion and Christmas parties.
Wet:
1/2 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
5 egg yolks (save the whites)
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream well together
Dry:
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
Sift together.
Mix dry and wet ingredients with 1 cup of milk.
Beat the five egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Grease and
flour a large cake pan (11"x 14") and bake at 300 degrees for about 30 minutes. Wait until cake is luke warm, then cut with
the edge of a thin glass into half-moon shapes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
